The government earlier launched the laundry industry anti-epidemic subsidy program under the Anti-epidemic Anti-epidemic Fund. The Environment Agency said today that the program has ended.

A spokesman for the Environment Bureau said that the Environmental Protection Department, which is responsible for the implementation of the funding scheme, began its approval process after receiving funding applications in June this year. A total of 1,387 applications were approved in about three months, with a total funding of $85 million. The gold has been approved in full and issued by mail check.

The spokesman continued that the laundry industry’s response has been positive. The total number of applications and grants are similar to expectations. The plan is to help the industry alleviate urgent needs, including caring for about 30% of the industry’s employees, aged 65 or above.

The Environment Bureau stated that with the completion of the approval work, the planned telephone hotline (3107 8403) will cease service at 5 pm on September 30.
