The police raided a unit in Yan Shing Court yesterday (24th) and seized 1 pepper ball gun, 1 telescopic stick, 2 sabers, 3 air guns, 1 bullet-proof vest and 15 gas masks.
A 23-year-old man surnamed Lu and a 49-year-old woman surnamed Cai were arrested in the unit. The two were in a mother-child relationship.
The 49-year-old woman has been released on bail pending further investigation and must report to the police in late November.
Today (25th), the case was handed over to the National Security Office of the police, and Lu Yu was arrested on suspicion of "inciting secession."
Senior Superintendent of the National Security Department Li Guihua explained the progress of the case and said that the arrested person imported the weapons through foreign shopping platforms, and then they were shipped to Hong Kong and photographed on social platforms for sale.
The police also found a large number of public announcements on the social platform. The public announcements used different forms and words to promote Hong Kong independence and spread hatred. The content was mainly "Hong Kong Independence", "Anti-Communist", and "Courageous Force". They may also commit crimes under the National Security Law .
