Summer holidays without a holiday program - with Wolfgang Schneider this will not happen in Herrsching.

Corona or not.

Even after 18 years, the SPD municipal council and third mayor are organizing the program with great passion for the Ammerseegemeinde.

Herrsching -

This year, too, when everything took place outside and no bus trips were possible, 60 offers came together.

The skater courses on the Ammerseestadion facility were the quickest to fill up.

They were on the program four times.

Traditionally, Schneider presented his review to the local council this time as well.

Participation has been made easier for tailors and their parents for the last four years.

Registrations are made online, Schneider can see with one click what is fully booked or not in demand and when.

Parents can also see immediately where there are still places available.

Traditionally, most bookings are made on the first day after activation.

This year there were a total of 633 registrations with 178 participants.

Only two events had to be canceled due to a lack of participants, two had to be postponed due to the weather conditions.

The popular trips to Skyline Park fell flat this year because bus trips were excluded due to Corona.

The same applied to the climbing forest and other more distant offers.

The climbing garden in Utting with its pirate ship was therefore the furthest away this year.

Utting was the target twice.

And Schneider was there both times.

We went there by bike and then back by boat.

“The first time we did it in three quarters of an hour,” says Schneider.

The second time, two little girls couldn't follow up so quickly, "then it was three hours".

Schneider doesn't care, he's patient.

As patiently as he has been running the program for 18 years and is at least a "greeting uncle" who welcomes the children to almost all of the offers.

This year he was always among the supervisors.

In the past few years there have been outstanding debts here and there, this year Schneider is pleased about the “extremely good payment behavior”.

Only 18 euros are still outstanding.

The community also made money available in the Corona year so that the participation fees can remain low.

There was 15,000 euros instead of 35,000 euros and the mandatory donation from Luise Gräber, which this year was 150 euros.

The money was not completely exhausted, so that a supervisor excursion is possible again this time, says Schneider happily.

A total of 41 volunteers were at his side, most often Andrea Grütter (six times).

"If the pandemic allows, there will be another program for the big holidays next year," said Schneider.

He hopes that it can start again as usual with Skyline Park and end with a visit to the labyrinth in Utting.
