Zeng Jianping, chairman of the Hong Kong Rare Diseases Alliance, pointed out that the plan has just begun. Three drugs have been included in the first phase, including Cladribine for the treatment of relapsed multiple sclerosis and nintedanib for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Nintedanib), and Aatinib for the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer.

He said that sometimes patients who are diagnosed with rare diseases after seeking medical treatment often spend 500,000 yuan on medicine. Even if middle-class patients can afford the medicine, they have to consider selling the property and giving up stock investment in order to spend a lot of money.

He believes that the installment payment plan is of great help to some patients, allowing patients to have multiple options to get the medicine early; but if the patient's credit card limit is insufficient, the installment payment cannot be made.

No special application is required for the plan. Patients with valid drug prescriptions can call the Dispensing Anxin Pharmacy of the Hong Kong Pharmaceutical Services Fund to make an appointment. The designated credit card can be used for instalment payments.

Zeng Jianping said that some private hospitals have expressed interest in the staging plan. It is expected that the plan may be extended to surgery in the future, and it will become a habit of the public in a few years.
