Rottach-Egern goes with it: The community has now also increased its spa fee to three euros.

The council wants to take a closer look at the use of the money.

  • The communities around the Tegernsee are currently discussing an increase in the spa fee

  • Now the Rottach municipal council has also decided to charge three euros in future

  • When it comes to using the money, they don't want to give TTT a free hand

Rottach-Egern

- After the communities of Kreuth and Gmund had each spoken out in favor of increasing their health resort contribution, Rottach-Egern joined as expected.

“We have not discussed this in detail in public and we have had contact with the tourist office.

It is important to get positive approval from him, ”explained Mayor Christian Köck in the local council half to the audience, half reminding the committee.

The city of Tegernsee would also consider the increase to three euros, reported the town hall chief.

And on top of that, that the other valley mayors definitely intend to influence their colleagues in Wiesse so that they may reduce their contribution by 30 cents again.

“A uniform health resort contribution in all valley communities would be beneficial.

And the offer in the Tegernsee valley justifies a health resort contribution of three euros per day of vacation, ”emphasized Köck.

What happens to the money?

The council wants to take a closer look

There was no objection to this, but there were reservations about the use of the additional income.

Michael Hagn (Blitz) wanted to know exactly: “What will happen to the money?” Hagn reported that Christian Kausch had announced that the money was intended for the Tegernseer Tal Tourismus GmbH, which he runs.

Rottach-Egern already pays one million euros a year, and the community also has to co-finance the ATS.

Köck explained that the health resort contribution was used to finance free rides with public transport, the maintenance of the hiking trails, the cycling concept, but also to the new digitalization strategy of TTT.

It would be about directing visitors and also the possibility of defusing certain tourist areas.

To do this, data would have to be collected and that would cost money.

CSU councilor calls for a "clear message" to tourism boss

Anastasia Stadler (CSU) pointed out that digitization is not part of the municipal tax law: “I am against the tourist tax or the increase flowing one-to-one into digitization.

And I want that to be recorded, ”she demanded.

Alexandra Wurmser (CSU) was also in favor of increasing the spa fee, but not of putting all or half of the money into digitization.

She also demanded a “clear message” to Kausch that the increase was not a carte blanche, but an order that TTT should plan the budget very carefully.

The Free Voters gave in: Gabriele Schultes-Jaskolla reminded that when planning the budget in November, the municipal councils could repeatedly check whether they found the TTT planning good or not.

"There we have the opportunity to question everything," said Schultes-Jaskolla.

Georg Höß (FWG) recalled: “We are now talking about the spa tax and not about the TTT budget.

And if we now vote against the increase, we would only burden the citizen. "

The aim of the increase, which in the end everyone agreed and which will come into force from May 1, 2021, is ultimately a greater participation of guests in the tourist services.

As Köck had explained at the beginning, a health resort contribution of three euros per day is justified.

From just one bus trip a day, the guests would have earned their contribution again.
