Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) will start from pole position in Sochi for the Russian Grand Prix, 10th round of the Formula 1 season, where he will have the opportunity on Sunday to equal Michael Schumacher's record for victories (91).
After coming close to elimination in Q2, the Briton will start for the 96th time in his career from first position, ahead of Max Verstappen (Redbull) and Valtterri Bottas (Mercedes).
