The Narcotics Control Branch in Damascus countryside arrested four drug dealers and users, and seized quantities of narcotic substances in their possession.
In a statement, which Sanaa received today, the Ministry of Interior stated that while a patrol of the Hussainiya Police Station was carrying out its duties, two persons were suspected and arrested, and they were found in possession of a mousse and a sum of money of 216 thousand pounds.
Upon interrogation with them, one of them confessed to using hashish, and the other confiscated in his possession an amount obtained from the sale of hashish and narcotic pills that he buys from another person who was arrested and found in his possession a piece of hashish weighing 163 grams and 57 captagon pills.
The ministry indicated in its statement that, upon investigation with the last person, he confessed that he was selling drugs to the arrested person and was buying them from another person. He was also arrested and found in his possession four pieces of "paws" of the narcotic substance, weighing 674 grams, 145 pills of Captagon and a number of narcotic pills. Miscellaneous and military rifle ammunition, and upon his interrogation, he admitted to consuming and possessing hashish and narcotic pills and trafficking in them.
The ministry indicated that the necessary measures have been taken against those arrested, and investigations are still ongoing with them to uncover all those involved in the case.
