The opening of the Syrian Association for the Treatment of Childhood Cancer in a center to provide free doses to cancer patients in the city of Qamishli was a state of general relief for the people for its role in easing the burden on patients and avoiding the trouble of traveling to Damascus to receive treatment previously.
The center's oncologist, Dr.Danish Mahmoud Haji Ibrahim, told SANA's correspondent that the opening of the center in the city of Qamishli is an important gain for the people and relieves a lot from them, as 12 patients are received daily, and doses are given to them in the center provided with beds, equipment, medical and nursing staff, and the required medicines, stressing the importance of coordination between the center and the hospital Al-Biruni in Damascus and the Oncology Hospital in Lattakia to view the health situation, the doses that were previously given to patients, and other medical information.
Oncology nurse Majida Al-Bakr considered that having a dosing center in the city is an important step to help people and save costs of treatment in other governorates. The nurse Rayhan Al-Sayed Mustafa, who sees in her humanitarian work as a help for the people of her city, is also required to raise their morale to encourage them to continue fighting the disease.
Dr. Faten Sultan, whose father receives the first dose at the center, confirmed that the opening of the center is an achievement in these circumstances and will reduce many of the burdens on the people.
Patient Hammoud Hassan Shehab explains what he was suffering from from the difficulty of travel and the financial burdens that he incurred in the past, and today he is happy that there is a radical solution represented by starting the work of the center and the kind treatment that patients receive in it.
In the middle of this month, the association opened a similar center in Al-Hasakah to provide medicines to cancer patients.
