An earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale occurred during the past 24 hours, northeast of Hurghada, Egypt.
The Egyptian Youm7 website quoted the head of the National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research Gad Al-Qadi as saying that the institute’s National Seismic Network stations recorded an earthquake in the Red Sea, 33 km northeast of Hurghada.
The judge pointed out that the tremor was at a depth of 16 km and was felt by some citizens, pointing out that no injuries, accidents or material damage were reported as a result of the tremor.
An earthquake measuring 5.8 degrees hit the northern coast of Egypt on the eighteenth of this month.
