Received 147 complaints about selling fake fresh pork in 9 months
Since January, the FEHD has received 147 complaints about selling chilled or frozen pork as fresh pork, and inspected fresh provision shops and market stalls a total of 7,649 times.
Regarding the sale of fresh pork and unprepackaged chilled pork and/or restricted food in the same premises, the FEHD submitted a total of 35 cases to 33 fresh provision shops and market stalls in accordance with the Food Business Regulation Prosecutions, of which 10 cases were convicted and fined, and the remaining 25 cases are still pending court trial.
