After the Democratic congresswoman, Alexandria Oxio-Cortez, canceled her participation in the ceremony in memory of the late Yitzhak Rabin, Noa Rotman, Rabin's granddaughter, responds.

In a Twitter tweet, Rotman scolded the congresswoman and wrote: "After all, it was my late grandfather Yitzhak Rabin who said, 'You make peace with your enemies - not with your friends.'

Due to his historical and brave act - he was murdered.

But of course it is easier to do populism. "

After all, it was my late grandfather Itzhak Rabin, who said: You make peace with your enemies- not with your friends.

Due to This brave historical act he was assassinated.

But off course Populism is easier.

As mentioned, the Democratic congresswoman, Alexandria Oxio-Cortez, who is known for her criticism of Israel, canceled her participation in the ceremony in memory of the late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin yesterday (Friday), officials in her office announced yesterday.

The ceremony is scheduled to take place virtually on October 20 and is led by the Americans for Peace organization.

Oxio-Cortez's office did not elaborate on the official reason for the cancellation of the participation but referred to a tweet in which she wrote: "This event and my participation were presented in a different way from the way it is being promoted now."

The final decision was made after Palestinian support groups criticized a congressional member who planned to honor the former prime minister's memory.

The "Justice for Adalah Project" group operating in the United States posted on its Twitter account yesterday about the cancellation of Occio-Cortez's participation and wrote: "Rabin's legacy is of Palestinian violence and expropriation. Thank you to the congressional company for listening to what the Palestinian people experienced."

On Thursday, the organization "Americans for Peace" promoted the virtual commemoration ceremony for Rabin and mentioned the name of Oxio-Cortez as one of the three keynote speakers at the event.

"Rabin's legacy has inspired us all. You are invited to listen to the congresswoman talking about the realization of the Israeli leader's vision for creating peace and justice in the United States and in Israel."

If @AOC is getting some bad advice, or undue pressure, to rethink her participation in a Yitzhak Rabin memorial, I hope she will not back down.

Honoring Rabin, an Israeli patriot killed for trying to make peace, in no way detracts from a commitment to Palestinians' rights.

Former US Ambassador Dan Shapiro responded to the cancellation and wrote on his Twitter account: "Respecting the memory of Rabin who was killed for his attempt to make peace does not in any way violate the commitment to Palestinian rights."

The chairman of the Labor Party, Amir Peretz, responded to the issue and said: "I express my sorrow and reject the conclusions and decision of the Oxio-Cortez Congress member not to attend the event in memory of the late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, following pressure from radical elements on Twitter. He fought in the War of Independence and as Minister of Defense during the Intifada. "
