countries and private neighborhoods.

The real estate agencies in the southern suburbs realize that.

agree that reservations have skyrocketed in recent weeks, many already have full capacity and warn that there is

much more demand than supply

.

The most requested place in the region is Canning, which has a wide range of options in terms of amenities and prices for those looking for a little green when the heat begins.

"They ask more than anything about houses with a

pool and grill

, they are the two main elements. Peace and security are also very important, two other things that are very much sought after," explains the manager of a real estate agency located on Castex street that specializes in this type

of "high-end" rentals

Those who manage temporary rentals point out that, although there are affordable properties for the middle class to very high-value houses, the prices are comparable to, for example, what would be a vacation abroad,

"There are people who live in countries and have never put their house up for rent but now they are seriously evaluating it. The number of houses that we have available is much lower than the consultations we are receiving daily.

There is a waiting list

of people who have been asking since It's been weeks and they haven't found anything, so we're looking for more houses to offer, "says the owner of another Canning real estate company. 

The prices, indeed, are very varied.

"You have houses in normal neighborhoods such as La Horqueta or Santa Juana, between 7,500 and 9,000 dollars for the whole season. Then a more premium profile in Saint Thomas or Terralagos, averaging

12,000 and 18,000 dollars,

with no less than four bedrooms, seen to the lake or to golf ", details Gonzalo Riviera, commercial manager of the real estate Epice.

In most cases, he clarifies, packages are made between rent, expenses and extra services as if it were an all-inclusive. 


Some real estate companies calculate that, compared to last year, inquiries soared

300%.

"At the beginning of the pandemic, the first two months the market was recessive and with very little demand. After the first 90 days, there began to be more consultations with the projection that there would be zero tourism," adds Riviera.

In addition, everything was advanced: while before people began to consult in October, this year they began to ask in July.

Clients even brought the season forward and started renting in September even without having working holidays yet, since telecommuting allows them to move around and be able to enjoy the pool or the rented barbecue after finishing the day in front of the computer.
