NIS 12-11 billion, this is the latest estimate by the Ministry of Finance for the cost of the current closure, assuming it ends immediately after Simchat Torah.

This is a dramatically lower estimate than previous estimates estimated at NIS 20-20 billion.

The chief economist at the Ministry of Finance, Shira Greenberg, announced before the beginning of Shabbat that in light of regulations approved on Friday morning, "regulations that significantly softened the restrictions presented in the Corona Cabinet last Wednesday," the cost of damaging the product was significantly reduced.

This is a figure that reflects the cost of the closure from the day it was applied before Rosh Hashanah, when businesses were restricted to public recipients and when the education system closed.

Any extension of the duration of the closure after the end of Sukkot will require an update of the cost of damaging the product.

Meanwhile, following the announcement of a move to an emergency format, new agreements were reached in the public sector last Friday.

According to the agreements reached between the wage commissioner in the treasury, Kobi Bar-Natan, and the chairman of the Histadrut, Arnon Bar-David, workers in the public sector who are not essential to maintaining a routine will go on a concentrated vacation after Yom Kippur until the end of Sukkot.

In accordance with the agreements and in view of the small number of working days in the period in question, public sector employees who will not be required to work in accordance with the employee rules in the arrangement, who are expected to take a concentrated holiday on Sukkot, will leave early.
