For the fourth time since the post-war period, Parliament is preparing to vote a stimulus budget.
The 2021 edition, dedicated to the coronavirus crisis, however differs from the previous ones by the scale of the public spending committed, a reflection of the violence of the recession.
The effort represents, according to the government, 4% of the country's GDP, against 2.2% during the Chirac revival of 1975 (1st oil shock), 1% for that of Mauroy in 1981 (2nd oil shock) and finally 1 , 3% after the 2008 financial crisis.
