Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas renewed his demand for the international community to shoulder its responsibilities in holding the officials of the Israeli occupation entity accountable for their crimes against the Palestinians and establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Abbas said in a speech delivered today on the seventy-fifth anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations, reported by Wafa Agency, "The Palestinian issue remains the biggest test for the international system and its credibility, and the Palestinian people are still waiting for the United Nations to fulfill its full responsibility in achieving a settlement of the Palestinian issue in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions."

Abbas stressed that the Palestinian people will remain resistant to fracture and extinction and will continue their struggle until the occupation ends and the establishment of their independent state on the line of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital.
