Feldkirchen

- Thomas Zimmermann (UWV) just couldn't believe it.

"Everyone always talks about a bike-friendly community and then prevents this cycle path, which has already been decided." The CSU and SPD were defeated in several votes in the building committee and brought the topic up again in the local council.

At 10: 9, the cycle path along Münchner Strasse to the new exhibition bridge was rejected.

This only succeeded because the Schmitt siblings from the Greens were not present.

Two members of the Green Council were missing

Anger did not help, as with Michael Schön (UWV) and Silvia Pahl-Leclerque (Greens) - who spoke excitedly about the fact that one could do without the recently reintroduced committees if their resolutions were not accepted - nor lack of understanding As Thomas Zimmermann (UWV), the SPD and CSU repeatedly accused of having a dubious understanding of democracy.

Even Mayor Andreas Janson's (UWV) interjected like a prayer wheel that the trade fair would like to start work on the parking lot and bridge long ago, and that the plans for the bridge over Münchner Strasse were as good as finished, did not help.

He was also unable to soften the hardened fronts between the CSU and SPD on the one hand and UWV, which had applied for the cycle path last autumn, and the Greens on the other.

CSU and SPD: You don't know when and where the fair will build a bridge

Some insisted that, according to the rules of procedure, it was completely legitimate to bring resolutions from the building committee to the municipal council for a second vote, according to Brigitte Pfaffinger and Verena Claudi-Weißig (both SPD).

In principle, you have nothing against the cycle path, emphasized Stefan Seiffert (CSU) and Christian Wilhelm (SPD) - just not now, when you do not even know whether the path will have a connection to the bridge at all and whether and where this will be built at all.

In contrast, Janson emphasized that the bridge would be built by the fair and that the plans were as good as finished.

"If we put out the tender now and build in 2021, we can currently get very favorable conditions and have enough time to plan," added Mayor Janson.

Member of the parliamentary group Zimmermann emphasized that the "existing" cycle path south of Münchner Strasse, which the SPD and CSU repeatedly brought up into conversation, was not a cycle path at all, but only a footpath and cycle path that cyclists could only use in one direction.

Daniel Golibrzuch (UWV) was annoyed that decision-making committees had been reintroduced, "if we question their decisions, then we go around in circles."

CSU wants to wait for the bicycle experts from the AGFK

Herbert Vanvolsem (CSU), who announced himself as the initiator of the renewed examination of the topic in the local council, said that he did not want to decide on something that later turned out to be an error of 124,000 euros.

“Let's wait for the exam by the AGFK (Working Group on Bicycle-Friendly Communities, author's note) to see what they say.

Maybe there is also a route over the Riemer Gangsteig or the sports grounds, ”said Vanvolsem.

Janson replied that the community had received a notification from the AGFK that Feldkirchen could not be checked until the end of 2021 at the earliest, "by then the bridge of the fair will long be finished." Michael Schön (UWV) said that there was only this one route for the Cycle path to the new parking lot, "the farmers around the sports grounds are not selling us anything for a cycle path." Because Tanja and Tobias Schmitt from the Greens were absent from the meeting, a majority from the CSU and SPD were able to vote the cycle path with 10: 9 votes against UWV and reject the Greens.
