Ankara-Sana

The authorities of the Turkish regime announced the evacuation of dozens of homes in the city of Sokka in the Aydın Governorate in the west of the country, following the outbreak of fire in the forest area, which caused the winds to spread quickly.

The Turkish Zaman newspaper quoted Aydin Governor Husayn Aksoy as saying that about 90 houses were evacuated due to the fire that was fanned by the strong winds, indicating that five helicopters, two water spraying planes and 30 firefighting cars, in addition to bulldozers and water tanks, were sent in an attempt to control the fire, which continues to spread.

The local official in the city of Soca Sunir Zaipak said that the firefighting teams are trying to control the fire from the air and on the ground, after the strong winds contributed to its spread, which impeded the efforts of the fire brigades and the Forestry Directorate.

Yesterday, a fire broke out in Istanbul in a forest area near the Anatolian Castle, and firefighting teams, with the support of a helicopter, participated in extinguishing it, and another fire broke out in the Kartal Aydos forest in the city.
