Today, the Lebanese security forces eliminated a terrorist group consisting of 18 people of different nationalities, while they arrested five others in separate areas.

The General Directorate of the Lebanese Internal Security Forces said in a statement tonight that the members of the group working for the terrorist organization ISIS in Lebanon were identified, and as a result of the clash with them, all of its members were eliminated and a large amount of weapons, ammunition, grenades and belts were seized.

The statement indicated that the security forces also managed to arrest 3 members of a terrorist cell in the town of Al-Bireh in Akkar, which was intending to carry out terrorist operations targeting some Lebanese regions, in addition to the Lebanese army and the Lebanese security services, explaining that materials and detonators were seized in their possession that were used in the manufacture of bombs and explosive belts.

The Lebanese security forces also arrested two terrorists from the district of Hanider in Wadi Khaled, who provided logistical support to a terrorist group, and seized in the place of their arrest light and medium weapons and a large quantity of hand grenades, Lao missiles, belts and explosive devices.

The Lebanese security forces, with the support of a large Lebanese army force, clashed during a security operation that began yesterday with a terrorist group holed up in a house in the outskirts of the town of Al-Fard in Wadi Khaled in northern Lebanon.
