The United States on Sunday urged Azerbaijan and the Armenian-backed separatist forces of Nagorny Karabakh to
"immediately cease hostilities"
in the disputed region, the scene of the worst clashes since 2016.
US State Department No. 2 Stephen Biegun called on both sides to
"urge them to cease hostilities immediately, to use direct means of communication to prevent further escalation and to avoid any unnecessary actions or words that would fuel tensions on the ground, ”
according to a statement from American diplomacy.
