After continuous efforts by the workshops and technicians of the General Organization for Bakeries, the automatic bakery in Mezzeh returned to work and production at its usual full capacity to secure bread for the people in the region and some public sector institutions.
In a statement to SANA's delegate, the director of the bakery, Nasreddin Al-Uqla, confirmed that the fire that broke out in the bakery last Wednesday caused great damage to the main line in the bakery and some minor damage to the other line. Efforts continued until the damage to the main line was repaired, and within 72 hours the production process returned to a full capacity of 15 tons per day, increasing or decreasing according to demand.
In turn, the head of the bakery's shift, Ghatfan Omran, explained that the technical workshops in the General Organization for Bakeries and the bakery worked continuously until it was able to restore the line that was exposed to the fire to produce normally and all the damage to the two lines was avoided, and the bakery started the production process as it was in the past.
For his part, Muhammad Al-Khatib, who is the production superintendent in the bakery, said that the bakery had regained its activities after 6 hours of the outbreak of the fire after maintaining one of the bakery lines at high speed, and now it has returned to full production capacity after fixing the faults resulting from the fire in the main line and the effects of the fire have been completely erased.
The bakery was exposed to a fire caused by a short circuit in the fire house.
