The branch of the General Organization for Seed Multiplication in Hama today started the operations of screening and sterilizing the barley seeds received from the breeding fields contracted for the current season, which amount to about five thousand tons.
The director of the foundation's branch, Eng. Muwafaq Al-Aboud, explained to the SANA reporter that the barley seeds are sifted from dirt, broken grains and impurities, and then stored in bags designated for this purpose, provided that they are distributed to farmers during the next agricultural season, indicating that the sale of barley seeds to farmers will start early next month.
Al-Aboud indicated that the branch continues to sift and sterilize wheat seeds received from the breeding fields, as 12 thousand tons of the total quantity received for the current season of 24,400 tons have been sifted to date, pointing to the continued sale of wheat seeds to agricultural banks in the governorate in addition to shipping other quantities to the seed multiplication branches In neighboring governorates.
