A stranger threw an iron pipe into the windshield of a moving truck from a bridge.
The police are now looking for witnesses.
Brunnthal
- A 44-year-old truck driver was very lucky this morning.
The man was on the A8 near the Hofolding junction at around 11.30 a.m., the officials report.
As he was driving under a bridge, his sun visor suddenly broke and he heard a loud thump.
The 44-year-old braked immediately and stayed on the hard shoulder.
According to the police, a stranger had thrown a one meter long and five centimeter wide iron pipe from the bridge.
The five kilo pipe damaged the roof of the truck considerably and destroyed the sun visor, reports the police.
Fortunately, the driver of the tractor-trailer was just shocked and routinely brought his vehicle to a standstill.
If the iron pipe had flown through the window into the driver's cab, this would have seriously injured the driver or even killed him.
Anyone who has made observations in the Hofoldinger Forest area is asked to notify the Holzkirchen motorway police station (08024-9073-0) or any other police station.
