Armenia announces 30 of its soldiers were killed during the battles with Azerbaijan

The Armenian Ministry of Defense announced that about 30 of its soldiers were killed during the fighting since yesterday with the Azerbaijani army in the Karabakh region.

According to Russia Today, a ministry spokesman, Artsron Hovhannisyan, said today, "200 members of the IDF of the Karabakh region were injured of varying severity, all of them are now under the supervision of doctors, and some of them have been sent to Yerevan."

In turn, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed in a statement that the Turkish regime is directly on the battlefield between Armenia and Azerbaijan, explaining that “Turkish military experts are fighting side by side with Azerbaijan, which is also using Turkish weapons, including drones and warplanes,” which was denied by Azerbaijan.

For his part, the Armenian Ambassador to Russia Vardan Tujanyan stressed that the situation around Karabakh requires swift intervention by the co-chairs of the Minsk Group of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

"The issue of holding an urgent meeting is within the competence and authority of the Minsk group, but the situation is clear and requires the quick intervention of the co-chairs and for Turkey to stop its aggressive interference in the affairs of the region," Toujanian added, noting that after the escalation of the situation in the summer and the current escalation in Karabakh, new geopolitical facts have crystallized in the region South Caucasus.

"These facts are summarized in the fact that there is a third party working today in the theater of military operations in the South Caucasus - Turkey, and on the part of NATO, which is actively participating alongside Azerbaijan through the presence of military advisors and by supplying it with weapons, etc."

Yesterday, the Armenian Ministry of Defense confirmed that it had irrefutable evidence of the Turkish regime's interference in the ongoing conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the Nagorno Karabakh region, noting at the same time that it was investigating by sending the Erdogan regime mercenaries from northern Syria to inflame the situation there.

 For its part, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense announced that 6 civilians were killed and 26 others were injured as a result of the military operations in Karabakh.

The ministry said today that its forces have taken control of several strategic heights near the village of Talish in the Karabakh region.

The Azerbaijani army announced yesterday that its forces seized 6 villages and several "strategic" hills located in the Fuzuli and Gabriel regions on the contact line from the unrecognized Karabakh Republic forces due to a sharp military escalation with the Armenian side, while officials in Armenia and Karabakh spoke today about restoring some of their forces. Hajiyev, who holds the position of foreign policy department in the Azerbaijani presidential administration, added in a press statement today, "For our people, this is a national war ... such events happen in the fate of every country ... and at such moments we would like to see the real position of different countries."

Since yesterday, Sunday, battles have erupted between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the disputed Karabakh region, in which light and heavy weapons were used, and the region is still witnessing a military escalation to this day.

In addition, Sergey Naryshkin, Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, emphasized that the escalation of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Karabakh can only be resolved politically and diplomatically.

He said in a press statement today, "The escalation of the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia is regrettable and unfortunately there are victims and both parties are using heavy weapons as well. We believe that this issue can only be resolved through political and diplomatic methods, and Russia is always striving for peace in every possible way."

The situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh region witnessed a sudden military escalation, while the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides exchanged accusations about the causes of the escalation. These developments come two months after a similar escalation in the border region between Armenia and Azerbaijan in mid-July, where the two sides exchanged accusations of causing it.
