Baku-Yerevan-Sana

Azerbaijan declared that it could respond appropriately to Armenia if the latter used the "Iskander" missile systems, due to the military escalation between the two countries.

The announcement came in a statement by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesman, Jyhun Bayramov, with the "Novosti" agency, in response to statements issued earlier today by the spokesman of the Armenian Ministry of Defense Artsron Hovhannisyan, during which the Armenian side did not rule out the use of all weapons in its arsenal, including missile systems. Iskandar ”and the attack aircraft, but he added that this matter will not happen unless“ necessary ”.

Hovhannisyan talked about an unprecedented artillery bombardment on the contact line in Karabakh and said on his Facebook page, “The intensity of artillery use and the intensity of fire is unprecedented, and there was no such intensity in this area before, and as usual, artillery men shine by showing their fighting skills.”

The situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh region witnessed a sudden military escalation, while the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides exchanged accusations about the causes of the escalation, and these developments come two months after a similar escalation in the border region between Armenia and Azerbaijan in mid-July, where the two sides exchanged accusations of causing it.
