After presenting his method to the government in early July, Jean Castex this time involves parliamentarians.
Tuesday, the day after the budget presentation, the Prime Minister invited from 6 p.m. the executives of the majority and several heavyweights of the government for a working seminar in Matignon.
On the menu: the parliamentary calendar for the coming months and the establishment of legislative “co-construction”.
Because in an attempt to alleviate the blues of deputies, the head of government wishes to involve them more in the making of legal texts.
Around the table, the President of the Assembly, Richard Ferrand, the presidents of the majority groups Christophe Castaner (La République en marche), Patrick Mignola (MoDem) and Olivier Becht (Agir ensemble) as well as the committee chairmen and rapporteurs generals.
The general delegate of LREM, Stanislas Guerini, will also be present.
On the government side, Minister of Justice Éric Dupond-Moretti, Ministers Élisabeth Borne (Labor), Olivier Véran (Health), Barbara Pompili (Ecological Transition), Olivier Dussopt (Public Accounts) and Jacqueline Gourault (Cohesion of the Territories) - government speech Gabriel Attal will participate in the discussion, as will the Minister of Relations with Parliament, Marc Fesneau.
As the end of the five-year term approaches, Jean Castex has set himself two objectives: that of better structuring the majority - to lay the foundations for the future "common house" - and that of improving relations between the executive and parliamentarians.
For their part, parliamentarians are waiting for a clarification on the legislative agenda, on the priorities of the last months of their mandate.
