After Christian Holzmann's resignation due to the corona, the Auer fire brigade has elected a new commander: Sebastian Biendl wants to look ahead.
Au / Hallertau
- With Sebastian Biendl as commander and Sebastian Elfinger as deputy, the Au fire brigade is emerging from its crisis.
"Support the two Sebastians!", Said District Fire Inspector (KBI) Helmut Baur in the urgent appeal to the active after the new election.
As is well known, there had been tensions within the fire brigade, also due to the corona-related tasks and restrictions for the aid organization, which had led to the previous commander Christian Holzmann resigning from his position in August.
The previous vice and acting head of the defense, Sebastian Biendl, was the only applicant to receive 41 of 47 votes from the active against six invalid ones on Saturday.
Sebastian Biendl was first in command in no time
KBI Baur, who was allowed to vote in his home defense, was not the only guest of honor in the Hopfenlandhalle: Freising's highest military man, District Fire Chief Manfred Danner, and Section District Fire Chief Markus Forster had come to the new election.
And of course Mayor Hans Sailer, as well as his deputies Martin Linseisen and Beatrix Sebald, because the election of the commanders is a sovereign task of the municipality.
Sailer took over the greeting and briefly explained the procedure, in no time Sebastian Biendl was officially first in command in a secret ballot.
The meeting started punctually at 7.30 p.m., and those who came later, such as fire brigade officer Michael Hillebrand, were no longer allowed to vote as agreed.
This was particularly interesting when choosing the second in command, which was very close.
The 29-year-old Sebastian Elfinger and 36-year-old Michael Schirm stood for election.
With 20:19 votes, Elfinger won razor-thinly out of eight invalid ones - and the new "Sebastian double top" among the Auer Floriansjüngern was chosen.
"Chance for a new beginning"
"I wish you the support of the whole team," said District Fire Chief Danner to Sebastian Biendl, so that the weir can get into calm waters again.
The Au fire brigade is "in good shape", which was also shown by the 150th anniversary in 2019, said Danner.
He also paid tribute to Biendl's predecessor, Christian Holzmann, whose decision to resign was to be accepted.
KBI Baur saw the new management as an opportunity for a new beginning.
Biendl's first words also pointed towards the future.
A questionnaire that was immediately distributed in the assembly should be used to determine what could be improved in the future.
He wanted to find out anonymously and by throwing it in the mailbox, "where the dog is buried," said the new commanding officer.
