Hundreds of heavily armed supporters of the "Proud Boys" - translated as "Proud Boys" - gathered on Saturday in the democratically ruled Portland.

They called on the city to end what they call "domestic terrorism".

This means the demonstrations against police violence and racism.

"Chief", supporter of the Proud Boys:

"They have done nothing - nothing but nonsense for 120 days. The city is completely embarrassed and is becoming the epitome of what the United States of America shouldn't be. As soon as we are here, there is a lot of hubbub and massive security measures. The Authorities are suddenly doing what they're always there for. Just do your job, Portland! "

The "Proud Boys" see themselves as - quote - "Western chauvinists who refuse to apologize for the creation of the modern world." The association had announced at least 10,000 supporters for their rally. According to the police, fewer than 1,000 people were present .

was canceled as their rally, stopped the police vehicles "Proud Boys" and confiscated firearms.

There were four rally-related arrests.

The governor of Oregon, Kate Brown, had declared a state of emergency in Portland in advance because of the increased risk of violence.

For four months people have been protesting against police violence and racism in Portland.

Again and again there are violent clashes between left and right activists and the police.

Over the weekend, protesters burned a US flag, threw stones and cans, and beat each other with security forces.

According to a spokesman, the police then arrested more than 20 people.
