Rehabilitation of the irrigation project in the town of Zubari in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor

The Deir Ezzor Agriculture Directorate put the irrigation project in the town of Zubari in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside into service after rehabilitating it from the damage it suffered as a result of terrorist acts, as part of the project to rehabilitate irrigation groups in the governorate.

The Director of Agriculture in Deir Al-Zour, Eng. Mahmoud Al-Hayy, said in a statement to SANA's correspondent that the project was implemented in cooperation with the Patriarch of Antioch and the rest of the East for the Greek Orthodox “Ecumenical Relations and Development Department”, and it is one of the vital projects that come within the framework of the work to replant all cultivable areas and irrigate the areas that were damaged during The previous years, as a result of terrorism, contribute to its return to the agricultural process.

Al-Hayy explained that the project irrigates 2000 dunums of agricultural land in the middle group in the town of Al-Zubari, and to restore life to large areas of land that have been out of service for years as a result of the cessation of agricultural irrigation groups.

For his part, the Head of the Fields Agriculture Department, Eng. Abdul Rahman Al-Omar, indicated that the works that were carried out included the installation of a 200 KVA transformer and two agricultural engines with a capacity of 75 horsepower with operating panels, in addition to maintenance of pumps, intake and push pipes.

A number of farmers praised the efforts made to restore the wheel of production in the agricultural sector in Deir Ezzor, which would contribute to supporting the national economy and securing a source of income for the people returning to their villages and fields.
