The Information and Communications Department of the Russian Ministry of Defense announced today the launch of the Soyuz-2 missile, which carries 3 satellites in the field of communication and 19 small spacecraft, from the Plesetsk space base.
"The Soyuz 1.2B missile carrying the Gunnets M communications unit, in addition to a payload of 19 small spacecraft, was launched," a management statement quoted by Sputnik said.
The statement added, "All pre-launch operations and the launch of the Soyuz 1.2B space rocket" took place in a normal situation as the ground centers of the Space Forces of the Space Forces monitored the launch.
It is noteworthy that the missile was launched from the launch pad No. 3 of the site No. 43 of the State Test Center of the Russian Ministry of Defense “Plesetsk” in the Arkhangelsk region, to be the fourth launch of a medium-class Soyuz-2 missile from the Plesetsk space base in 2020.
