Bo Zhigao is a Hong Kong native of British descent. He joined the Authority in 2014 as Chief Operating Officer. He was appointed as Chief Executive Officer in August of the following year to replace Michael Lynch, who resigned. It is known that he will Formally resigned on August, that is, his career in the West Kowloon Cultural District Administration Bureau lasted 5 years and 3 months.

Pak Chigo is a retired senior official who has served in various departments of the Hong Kong Government for more than 33 years, including the former Civil Affairs Branch, the former Security Branch, the Lands Department, the former Urban Services Department, the former City and Administration Department, and the former Civil Service Bureau.

He served as the Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development (Communications and Technology) from 2008 to 2010, and as the Permanent Secretary for Transport and Housing (Housing) and Director of Housing from 2010 to 2014.

Regarding the qualifications of the next candidate, He Qingji, a visiting professor in the Department of Cultural Studies at CUHK, believes that the CEO should focus on administrative skills such as operation and finance, while artistic decisions can be handed over to experts. In the future, flexible operation and creativity are needed. Operation, government bureaucratic influence dominates, and the board of directors has not been able to recruit professionals from all sides. At this difficult time and the operational structure, I believe that the successor needs to have a certain degree of resilience.

Some theater directors believe that it is difficult to hope that West Kowloon can change the entire Hong Kong art environment, but hope that the next CEO will be closer to the ground and lead West Kowloon to be more transparent.

Some people from West Kowloon Middle School expect that if the future candidates focus on business operations and financial management, they should be assisted by art professionals, and vice versa, so as not to tilt the leadership policy.
