A number of people were killed by gunfire in the city of Salem, in the US state of Oregon today.
"The district police office dealt with an incident involving the possibility of taking hostages at a home southeast of Salem, and a trained negotiator spoke with the suspect," Reuters quoted the chief of Marion County police as saying in a statement, adding that "there was shooting and eventually several people were killed during this." The incident, including the suspect.
One person was killed and 11 others were wounded two days ago in a shooting at a building in the center of Waterloo, Iowa, USA.
It is noteworthy that shootings are common in the United States with the spread of a culture of violence in American society and the right to possess individual weapons defended by President Donald Trump.
