The wounded man, a 55-year-old police volunteer, was injured while assisting in an arrest operation in the village.
He was evacuated by helicopter to Rambam Hospital for further medical treatment. Many forces were called to the area, where a hunt is still underway for the rapist who fled the scene.

A 55-year-old man, a volunteer with the police, was moderately injured today (Tuesday) in a car accident while assisting in a suspicious arrest operation at the Dvoria Local Council in the Lower Galilee.
He was evacuated by helicopter to Rambam Hospital in Haifa. The police said that the pursuit of the offending driver continued.
