Hundreds of Palestinians, during a solidarity stand in Tulkarm in the West Bank today, called on human rights and humanitarian organizations and the International Red Cross to urgently intervene to release the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli occupation jails, especially the sick, the elderly, children and women.

According to the Wafa Agency, the participants in the weekly stand in front of the Red Cross office in Tulkarm stressed the need to continue supporting the prisoners and solidarity with them in light of the violations and brutal practices they are exposed to by the occupation authorities, amid deliberate medical negligence of their right in light of the spread of the Corona virus.

The director of the Prisoner's Club office in Tulkarm, Ibrahim al-Nimr, warned of the deterioration of the health status of the prisoners who live in extremely difficult conditions, especially the elderly prisoner Khairy Hanoun and the captive Maher Al-Akhras, who has been on hunger strike for 65 days, stressing the need for international human rights and humanitarian institutions to assume their responsibilities and put pressure on the occupation authorities to stop their violations against the prisoners. And the urgent release of the sick, the elderly, women and children whose lives are in danger.

About five thousand Palestinian prisoners inside the Israeli occupation prisons face harsh conditions of detention, as 1800 prisoners suffer from multiple diseases due to the spread of epidemics and germs, and among them about 700 prisoners need urgent treatment, especially cases of cancer, kidney failure and paraplegia.
