A Boeing 737 passenger plane belonging to the Iranian company (Aseman) made an emergency landing today in Zahedan, southeast Iran, while on a domestic flight between Mashhad and Chabahar.
Fars News Agency quoted the Director General of the Accident Affairs Department of the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization, Hassan Rezaei Far, as saying that "the plane suffered a technical defect in one of its engines and the pilot was able to land it urgently despite turning off the engine at Zahedan Airport," indicating that the plane had 87 passengers on board. The crew includes 10 people.
Rezai Far indicated that (Aseman) Airlines sent a replacement plane and transported the passengers to Chabahar.
