The policeman charged in connection with the death of Breonna Taylor has pleaded innocent in court in the United States.
The man was charged with negligent endangering the lives of others after he and two other officers stormed Taylor's friend's home in a drug raid in March.
The innocent Taylor was killed by police bullets.
However, the only one charged was the officer who hit the wall of the neighboring apartment and not the paramedic.
No proceedings had been initiated against his two colleagues.
The investigators had come to the conclusion that the other two police officers had defended themselves, it said.
This led to serious rioting in Louisville, Kentucky.
The police officer, who was charged on three counts, was initially arrested, but was released in June.
He made his plea on a conference call before the Jefferson County District Court.
If convicted, he faces five years imprisonment for each offense.
Worldwide outrage
The case caused outrage worldwide.
During the protests against racism and police violence against black people after the death of George Floyd in a brutal police operation at the end of May, Taylor's picture and her name were repeatedly shown.
Taylor became one of the faces of the Black Lives Matter protests.
Celebrities like the singer Beyoncé, presenter Oprah Winfrey, basketball star LeBron James or Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton called for justice for Taylor.
In mid-September, Taylor's family reached an agreement with the City of Louisville on $ 12 million in compensation to settle the civil lawsuit.
In addition, an agreement provides for binding reforms to the police department in Louisville, Mayor Fischer said.
