Wasserwachten berger capsized dinghy cruiser in front of Breitbrunn.
Breitbrunn
- "People in the water threaten to drown." That was the message that the water guards at Ammersee reached on Tuesday afternoon.
Fortunately, the dinghy cruiser with cabin that had been watched from the bank as it went down was not manned by people.
Ambulances and helicopters who were also alerted could therefore quickly turn around.
The boat was moored near the steamer pier in Breitbrunn and capsized.
Nine members of the water guards from the west bank had their hands full until the dinghy cruiser could be lifted again later that afternoon, pumped out and brought to safety.
Siegried Dumbsky does not know the cause of the capsizing. The technical director of the Landsberg district water watch was out, as were his colleagues in the Eching, Utting and Schondorf local groups. A total of about 30 rescuers were initially deployed, and in the end nine who recovered the boat. Big alarms are common, Dumbsky said. “You never know whether there are people on the boat.” And when in doubt, it is always better if there are many rescuers on site.
