The emotion is immense in Villefontaine, where the body of the student was found on Monday. An autopsy will be carried out in the coming days.

After two days of anguish, the press conference held Monday, September 28 by the prosecutor of Vienne confirmed the worst fears of the Dartois family.

Victorine, 18, is dead.

Her remains were found submerged in a stream in Villefontaine, an Isère town of just under 20,000 inhabitants where the young girl resided.

“Victorine was found lifeless near the prairie stadium.

Like all Villards, I am very affected and shocked by this tragic outcome and think with emotion of his family ”,

reacted the mayor of the town, Patrick Nicole-Williams.

On the side of the Dartois family, it is Romane, one of the two sisters of the disappeared, who speaks the most publicly.

"Important information, it's only me who communicates them on this account,"

she wrote on her Facebook profile at midday Monday.

In her last message, posted at 1:30 am on the night of Monday to Tuesday, she praises her sister.

"Victorine was an extraordinary young woman, a more than exemplary sister, attentive and always smiling"

, she underlines.

Romane continues:

"I have no more words, I am completely destroyed by this enormous upheaval which changes my life ... My heart is torn.

I am in mourning with my family ... I am impressed with the supportive community that Victorine has!

But she totally deserves it!

I really want to thank you all for your sharing, your words of love and support with my family and me.

If I could I would give you all a hug ... Victorine is already in Heaven.

Watch over us my little angel, I love you. "

Victorine's brother, Rémy, posted on Facebook a photo of a candle on which he wrote the girl's first name, with this comment:

"I love you my titi"

.

This cliché is spreading among those close to Victorine, many of whom now use it as a profile photo.

A tribute group has already been created on the social network, as is often the case in this kind of business - this was for example the case for Sophie Lionnet, a young au pair killed in London in September 2017, or Sophie Le Tan, whose body was found at the end of October 2019, more than a year after his disappearance in Strasbourg.

Victorine,

“it was joy and good humor.

It was enchantment.

She was a little beauty.

We are devastated, ”

said the uncle of the disappeared to TF1.

The young woman "

always had a smile, she always made jokes"

but

"she was very fearful, she was afraid of being stopped by cars, picked up by boys in the street.

A lot of people say that she could have gone up with someone in the car but she never would have done it, "

said a friend of Victorine's to BFMTV.

What her father confirmed to the

Parisian

:

"She would never have taken a car with anyone"

.

This Saturday, September 26, La Villarde, who had just joined a university in Lyon after having obtained her STMG baccalaureate with Assez Bien last June, vanished as she walked home to her parents.

She had spent the afternoon with her friends in a mall and missed the bus that could have taken her home.

The Grenoble research section is now in charge of investigations within the framework of an investigation for "kidnapping, forcible confinement and voluntary homicide".

An autopsy of the young woman's remains will be carried out in the coming days.
