She is the oldest citizen of the Neuching community and a fighter for it: Mathilde Sajuk.

Now she celebrated her 100th birthday.

Oberneuching

- Mathilde Sajuk is a fighter.

A few weeks ago the woman from Oberneuchingen suffered a stroke.

But meanwhile she has recovered to some extent.

So she insisted on celebrating her 100th birthday on Monday.

In the morning, her mayor Thomas Bartl and district administrator Martin Bayerstorfer congratulated her warmly.

In the afternoon the grandchildren Natalia, Pauline and Louis came to visit.

Her neighbors Maria Riermeier and Erika Hermansdorfer were at Sajuk's side all day, with whom she has had a deep friendship for many years.

Sajuk's daughter Roxanna lives in Canada and was unable to travel.

But on the eve of their 100th birthday, the two spoke on the phone.

A special surprise for Sajuk was the delicious birthday cake, a cream cheese that Hermansdorfer had baked and decorated with a 100 candle.

Despite her old age, Sajuk does not belong to the old iron.

She still enjoys working with languages.

Her favorite language is Greek.

The native of Munich also speaks English, French, Latin, Italian and Ukrainian - the mother tongue of her husband Jurij, who died in 2007.

She had once met and loved the young man at college.

In 1971 the two moved to Oberneuching and built a house there, in which the jubilee still lives today.

“I don't speak French very well.

But when I read something in French, I understand everything, ”says the jubilee who used to work as an administrative clerk for the union.

She also worked as a translator because of her talent for languages.

And another quality distinguishes the jubilee: her great love for animals.

Labrador dog Tami and lucky cat Luna are their pride and joy.

Tami was also very fond of Mayor Bartl and let him pamper her with pats.

"Tami likes men," Sajuk said with a laugh.

But also many injured animals from the wild, such as birds, were and are being nursed back to health in the Sajuk house.

The jubilee needs help in everyday life herself, but her nurses take care of her.
