The federal government is looking for a repository for nuclear waste.
The Ebersberg district is definitely out of the question.
That says the CSU member of the Bundestag Andreas Lenz.
Ebersberg
The Federal Association for Final Storage (BGE) has presented its interim report on possible areas for nuclear final storage in Germany.
According to this, around 54% of the total area of Germany are so-called sub-areas that are theoretically possible as nuclear repositories.
Initially, only the geological structures were evaluated as a criterion.
Further criteria have not yet been taken into account.
In the BGE's interim report, none of the potential areas is in the Ebersberg district.
County is excluded
Andreas Lenz, member of the Bundestag, said: “The BGE interim report shows the salt, clay and granite areas in Germany and is a first step in the search for a location.
The district of Ebersberg is definitely not one of the 95 sub-areas, which means that it is excluded as a possible location for the storage of nuclear waste. "
"I welcome the fact that the Bavarian state government has already announced that it will critically accompany the further process and commission its own scientific expertise," concluded Lenz.
