Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed that relations between Russia and Belarus are solid and not subject to conditions of external pressure.
In a video-delivered speech to the participants in the plenary session of the Seventh Forum for the Russia and Belarus regions, Putin indicated, according to Sputnik, that the two countries are working jointly to solve defense-building issues and face modern acute challenges and threats, including within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
Putin said, "Now, given the difficult situation in which the Republic of Belarus found itself, including under conditions of unprecedented external pressure after the presidential elections, I would like to repeat once again that relations between Russia and Belarus are not subject to any time or circumstance .. they have the basis "It is durable because our countries are united by strong cultural and spiritual ties rooted over centuries, wide kinship, family ties and a common history."
Earlier, Putin stressed that what is happening in Belarus is an internal issue that concerns the Belarusian people, explaining that Russia is committed to helping this country within the frameworks and treaties between the two sides.
