Or rather what about its eminent president Philippe Bas?
According to the internal regulations of the LR group, a senator cannot exercise the same mandate more than twice.
A rule voted by senators
"to force a rotation of positions and prevent glories from settling there"
, describes a parliamentarian.
The qualities of the chairman of the Senate Law Commission are unanimously hailed by his peers, but Philippe Bas has served for two terms, or six years.
In theory, the former secretary general of the Elysee therefore does not have the right to stand for this post ... which has become very visible.
