8/10 for the Beaux Arts hotel

This Marriott group boutique hotel is a member of the Autograph Collection network.

Opened in 2011 in the heart of Miami, it occupies the top three floors of a skyscraper in which the JW Marriott Marquis is also located.

Once we arrive in the huge hall located at the foot of the tower, a receptionist gives us access to an elevator that climbs to the 39th floor in just a few seconds.

This is where the reception of the Beaux Arts hotel is located.

From this high-perched platform, you can see the bird's-eye view of neighboring buildings and Biscayne Bay which divides the city of Miami in two.

9/10 The situation

The strong point of this hotel is its location.

Ideally located in the heart of Miami, it is the perfect base for exploring the city.

The area where it is located can easily be reached on foot, as is the neighboring area of Brickell.

This is a large area of impressive tall towers in which there are many trendy bars and restaurants.

The districts of Little Havana, Wynwood or South Beach are only about 20 minutes by taxi each.

6/10 The decor

Too bad, the decor is already dated when the hotel is only a few years old.

Dark wood floors, geometric-patterned rugs and cushions, white leather armchairs with chrome armrests: everything is in fashion from the 2000s. Only the collaboration with Artscape Lab gives the ensemble an interest.

This gallery, founded in 2016, specializes in lending works of art.

Sculptures by John Henry or photos by Roberto Lombana bring a contemporary touch to the hotel's public areas.

Most of the works on display are for sale and part of the proceeds are donated to a private foundation which acts for the protection of the marine environment.

    8/10 The bedrooms

The 44 rooms and suites are divided into seven categories.

Picasso, Matisse, Miro, Warhol ... Each is named after a 20th century artist.

Ours (no.3803) is called Georgia O'Keefe, an American modernist painter.

The decor is based on dark tones between a Brazilian cherry wood floor and a black marble bathroom imported from Italy.

Very comfortable, the bed (king-size, we are in the United States) is placed facing the bay window, from where the view is on the buildings opposite but also on Biscayne Bay in the distance.

Because here is another strong point of the hotel: the plunging views over the city.

The establishment also stands out for its technological tools: our room contains a large plasma television connected to a very enveloping sound system.

It is also possible to connect your devices to play your own music.

    8/10 Services and equipment

A continuously open fitness room gives the opportunity to sweat while admiring the neighboring skyscrapers and the bay that surrounds them.

The heated outdoor swimming pool, located on the 19th floor of the tower, allows you to swim a few fathoms in the middle of this urban setting of the Downtown Miami district.

A basketball court and a yoga room also overlook the adjacent buildings.

Finally, it should be noted that the spa (“Enlinven”, on the 20th floor) is shared between Beaux Arts and the JW Mariott hotel.

Let yourself be tempted by the Enliven Signature Massage, a treatment that focuses on the whole body and performed using masks and hot towels for 80 minutes (€ 200).

Perfect after a long haul flight.

8/10 At the table and at the bar

In addition to the lobby, the 39th floor also houses the hotel bar, which is quite small but rather cozy.

It is also possible to have lunch or dinner there at any time thanks to an “all day menu” made up of simple and classic dishes.

The hotel's remarkable table is located on the ground floor of the tower.

Daniel Boulud moved there in December 2017. The French chef with two Michelin stars in New York already had tables in Las Vegas and Palm Beach before opening his restaurant in Miami.

Here, he concocts colorful dishes with a purely Mediterranean influence.

Roman artichokes (€ 14), lemon linguine with saffron (€ 24) or octopus a la plancha (€ 20) are among the signature dishes.

Aside from fish and seafood, few ingredients are local.

    Pity.

Locavores will pass their way, but miss out on sunny dishes at one of Downtown Miami's best tables.

    8/10 The value for money

It costs from € 250 in low season and € 635 in high season for a night in this slightly outdated but comfortable hotel, ideally located in the heart of Miami.
