The confrontation between sections of the ultra-Orthodox public and the law enforcement authorities regarding Corona is escalating.

At the end of Yom Kippur, police raided the beit midrash of the Vizhnitz Hasidim, after a large gathering took place there.

The policemen scattered a "tish" of the Hasidim with the Rebbe and distributed reports to those who did not wear a mask as required.

While the ultra-Orthodox public as a whole looks on from the sidelines and mainly expresses anger against the Hasidim who violated the instructions, the Rebbe went into a real battle against the police.

He ordered the opening of mikvahs against the corona guidelines.

"I will not allow the closure of mikvahs, synagogues and educational institutions."

Following the sharp confrontation, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke tonight (Tuesday) with the Rebbe of Viznitz, in an attempt to calm the spirits.

The Rebbe, for his part, thanked the Prime Minister for his efforts in managing the health care system in the current situation, and wanted to further emphasize that within the essential needs that were allowed, along with taking the necessary precautions, And educational institutions, under agreed precautionary conditions.

This is not the only confrontation with various factions in ultra-Orthodox society.

Police raided a synagogue in the city of Modi'in Illit today, after many worshipers from the "Jerusalem faction" gathered.

A number of worshipers, who refused to evacuate, were arrested by police and brought to the police station.

The extremist group expressed heavy anger over the arrests.

"You knew how to respect Viznitz, you completely ignored Belza, you do not dare enter Mea Shearim, and in the checkpoints in the ultra-Orthodox cities you do not point a finger to maintain public order and prevent infection. We will not become a scapegoat for the ultra-Orthodox public. "Only you know: the demonstrations in Balfour are a child's play. If we are pushed into a corner, you will encounter demonstrations by the Torah community in every corner of the country."

Tonight, Peleg announced that they had gone out to demonstrate against the police on the streets of Modi'in Illit in response to the arrests.

After the departure of Yom Kippur, the police announced that they intend to intensify enforcement against violators of the Corona directives, including in the ultra-Orthodox sector.

Already yesterday, thousands of reports were distributed and the police set themselves the goal of preventing the spread of the corona even at the cost of spotty public anger.
