Moscow - SANA
The Deputy Director General of the Robotics Systems Company for Russian Special Projects Affairs, Maxim Skokov, announced that Russian experts have supplied the drones with a flame thrower to be used in the interest of the Russian radiation, chemical and biological protection forces.
"We reviewed in the training fields the possibilities of using flamethrowers on board the drones and tested a model equipped with a flamethrower, and it became clear that this technology is a very difficult task," Skokov said, indicating that work has begun on applying this technology from a technical point of view.
Skokov explained that the tests showed that it is very difficult to shoot down a drone equipped with a flamethrower as it detects a weapon that it targets and easily destroys with directed fire.
It is reported that China has been successfully using flamethrowers for civilian purposes.
