Soon in Schliersee too?

Schliersee

- If Michael Braun has his way, one of the last blank spots on the map of the municipal service center Oberland (KDZ), which was founded in 2007 and has 133 members, will soon disappear for the Miesbach district.

“I'll count you in on it,” said the managing director during his presentation in the Schliersee municipal council.

Braun also mentioned a specific date for a possible accession to Schliersee: the association meeting in autumn.

The KDZ boss would probably not have rushed ahead if he hadn't been certain of a certain interest in the Schliersee.

In fact, the desire to have the association's offer presented to itself came from within the ranks of the local council itself.

Gerhard Waas (Greens) made the corresponding application, reminded Mayor Franz Schnitzenbaumer (CSU).

The triggers were, among other things, the recent numerous discussions about the traffic and especially the parking chaos in Schliersee.

So far, the market town has outsourced surveillance to a private service provider.

According to Braun, there are two options for working with the KDZ: a two-year purpose agreement or membership.

Depending on the variant, the prices for the monitoring hours differ.

In stationary traffic (parking) members pay 30 euros, non-members 40 euros per hour, in flowing traffic it is 100 or 140 euros.

The municipalities will get the collected warnings and fines back 1: 1, emphasized Braun.

The same applies to profits made by the Zweckverband.

The traffic monitoring is still the clear focus at the KDZ, explained Braun.

For 2021, 50,000 hours have already been booked at around 3,000 measuring points in the Oberland, 60 percent of which will be in flowing and 40 percent in stationary traffic.

“Demand is exploding with the chaos,” said Braun.

But also the receivables management (here the KDZ takes care of the enforcement of municipal performance notices) as well as the central procurement office for tenders for commissioned work, which is now allowed after a long back and forth (the municipalities can decide in which areas they want support), are enjoying increasing popularity Popularity with members.

The increasing demand must first be met, Waas asked with a view to the classic excursion days.

And that also requires staff.

"What happens if Schliersee also comes along?" Braun nodded.

“We are constantly posting new positions.” The aim of the KDZ is to be able to fulfill 98 percent of the requested monitoring hours.

"And we succeed in most cases." On extreme weekends, however, even a vacation ban for the around 50 employees would not be enough to cover everything.

Horst Teckhaus (PWG) was interested in the choice of measuring points.

He had heard that many parishes would give flashes and tickets where there was most to be earned.

“It's not about filling the municipal coffers, but about increasing road safety.” Braun said that when the monitoring points were set, the police would always be called in to assess.

In fact, in a number of communities, regular controls have been used to defuse hot spots.

The mayor still left open whether Schliersee would actually join the association, as Braun hoped, or at least book its services.

In order to be able to make an informed decision, one will first compare all advantages and disadvantages in the respective areas in the town hall.
