The Lint trains are not exchanged.

However, the BRB assures that it will take the current problems seriously and work quickly on sustainable solutions.

Holzkirchen / Landkreis

- The opponents didn't bother with lengthy explanations: "Horror-Lint" was written on the back of the poster, which representatives of the citizens' initiative Endstation Lint raised in front of the conference room of the Holzkirchen town hall.

So there, where on Wednesday morning, at the invitation of the President of the State Parliament and constituency member Ilse Aigner (CSU), a round table dealt with the current problems around the newly acquired trains of the Bavarian Regiobahn (BRB).

"No other model available on the market"

"We have been counted many times for the considerable operational problems with the old Integrals and Talents," recalled BRB managing director Fabian Amini when it came to the procurement of the new vehicles.

The BRB parent conference Transdev therefore decided to replace the fleet at its own expense while the transport contract was still in progress.

There was no alternative to the Lint trains, confirmed Thomas Prechtl, Managing Director of the Bayerische Eisenbahngesellschaft (BEG): "It was the only model available on the market that met all current standards and had approval." it was not possible to bridge the time to electrification, added Florian Liese, responsible for the planning department at BEG.

Heino Seeger, formerly head of the Bavarian Oberlandbahn (BOB) and now managing director of the Tegernsee-Bahn, disagreed.

Just as he railed against the BRB again and again this morning, accusing those responsible of being ignorant and accusing them of “imbalances in the statements”.

Transdev had "cut maintenance together" and thus saved the integrals in favor of the return for the shareholders.

"The problems are all homemade," he said.

Amini did not want to accept this and "affirmed in lieu of oath" that the fleet swap had taken place for purely strategic reasons and not for reasons of improving the balance sheet.

The current quality measurement already shows that the decision was good and correct.

The passengers had recently given the trains top ratings.

"That doesn't mean," he said, "that we don't have problems to talk about."

Additional ramps for barrier-free entry

One of them is accessibility.

The "Barrier-free" working group around Waakirchner disability officer Gisela Hölscher and the disability officer of the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district, Ralph Seifert, once again called for the fleet to be replaced.

"Give people a move that deserves the term quantum leap," said Hölscher.

Of course, BEG and BRB categorically ruled out a change.

“There are simply no other vehicles,” recalled Aigner.

According to the railway company, they are currently working on providing additional access ramps for people with disabilities.

The BRB's technical director, Arnulf Schuchmann, reported that the first sample could be delivered next week.

"We thought that we could accept some disadvantages when purchasing the vehicle, such as the greater distance at the entrance, in order to realize advantages for many passengers," said Amini.

"I'm sorry if we couldn't do it."

Hope to reduce noise

With regard to the noise emissions, Schuchmann assured that the concerns of the residents are taken very seriously.

The BRB is currently working on reducing the noise from the compressed air generators, the door signals and the whistle at unbarred level crossings.

The signals are within the norm, but try to get to the lower end of the permitted values.

However, this “cannot be implemented overnight”.

This is exactly what Gmund's mayor Alfons Besel (FWG) demanded with a view to the, according to his words, unbearable squeaking noises.

“There are many words and few deeds,” he said.

"I expect ad hoc measures, and if you lubricate the tracks by hand, if you want." The Lint has significant defects and is not suitable for the railway lines in the Oberland.

Schuchmann disagreed.

In the background, they have been working intensively on the problems for many weeks.

"I can only guarantee that we will do all we can," he said.

Measures to reduce noise on the trains, for example by installing absorber rings in the wheel disks, would have to be coordinated with the manufacturer after appropriate measurements and reports in order not to invalidate the guarantee.

That takes time.

Politicians want to support the elimination of defects

"I will take care that you will address and resolve the deficits you have identified as quickly as possible," said Aigner to the railroad representatives at the end of the discussion.

She took up the suggestion of Hausham's mayor Jens Zangenfeind (FWG) to accompany the elimination of deficiencies on the political side: “We should check the state of affairs at regular intervals,” demanded Zangenfeind.

Amini had no problem with it: "We ourselves have a considerable interest in the problems being solved."
