Britain recorded 7,108 new infections with the Coronavirus, with an increase in the daily death rate to 160, bringing the death toll to 453,264, including 42,143 deaths.
And the British government had previously raised the alert level related to the Coronavirus, with senior health advisers warning that the country would witness 50,000 infections per day in the middle of next month and that deaths would rise if no immediate measures were taken.
In recent weeks, Britain has witnessed new sharp increases in the daily infection index, since the eighth of May.
