The government this evening (Wednesday) approved the extension of the term of office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Superintendent Moti Cohen, and the Deputy Commissioner of the Prison Service, Gondar Asher Vaknin. The two will remain in office for another six months, or until a permanent appointment. Amir Ohana has informed the two of his intention to extend his tenure about two weeks ago.

Cohen added that "in order to maintain organizational stability and the understanding that at this time continuity is required in the processes taking place in the organization, I will continue to lead the police in the role of MM until a different decision."

Cohen addressed the commanders and clarified that "I expect you We are sensitive and united so that together we can carry out the significant tasks that lie on the shoulders of the police at this time. "
