The circulation of the Covid-19 virus remains

in Guadeloupe, with more than 1,000 new positive cases recorded last week and
"15 new deaths"
, the prefecture and the ARS said on Wednesday in a press release.
The indicators, however, are experiencing a form of stabilization even if
"the plateau is very high,"
said Valérie Denux, director general of ARS Guadeloupe, during a press conference broadcast live on social networks.

Guadeloupe, placed for a week in the maximum alert zone, remains
"very clearly above the alert threshold, with an incidence rate of 278.07 per 100,000 inhabitants",

The positivity rate remains stable at 22.71%.
In total, Guadeloupe has 5,528 cases of Covid-19 cumulative since the start of the epidemic and 57 deaths.
On the other hand, the reproduction factor of the virus goes back under the symbolic barrier of 1: it reaches 0.92.
It was an objective pursued by the authorities.
"This must be taken with caution, the reproduction factor for next week will or will not confirm this trend,"
say the authorities.
"It is not impossible that we go into a state of health emergency",
recalled Alexandre Rochatte, the prefect of Guadeloupe, if the incidence rate for the elderly (291 / 100,000) and the pressure on the hospital are maintained.

The prefect has already taken several restrictive measures: closing bars and restaurants, banning gatherings of more than 10 people in public places, restricted access to beaches, etc. A final measure has just come into force.
