Three rockets targeted positions of Iranian Kurdish rebels in Iraqi Kurdistan on Wednesday (September 30th), not far from Erbil airport where American soldiers are stationed, Iraqi officials said.

The origin of the shots was not immediately known.
But Hoshyar Zebari, former head of Iraqi diplomacy and figure of the autonomous region of Kurdistan (north), considered that these shots, even if they targeted the Iranian Kurdish opposition, constituted "
an escalation (...) of same groups attacking the American embassy
"in Baghdad.
